This Is How 221 Metre Tall Statue Of Lord Ram Will Look Like As UP CM Finalises Details

What once started as a plan of erecting a 100-metre statue of Lord Ram in his birthplace Ayodhya rose to a 221-metre idol amid outcries and cheers.

Among much anticipation, preparations at the disputed site of the 16th-century mosque, Babri Masjid have already begun. Right-wing, Hindu outfits are conducting rallies and have expressed their keenness in building Ram Mandir as general elections 2019 are approaching.

While U.P Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath finalised the details of the bronze sculpture that will include a 20 metres overhead umbrella, a pedestal with a height of 50 metres, the actual statue will stand at a height of 151 metres.

The details were given by Uttar Pradesh Principal Secretary (Information) Avanish Awasthi on Saturday, Press Trust of India reported. Reportedly, the location of the statue hasn’t been decided.

A modern museum will also be installed at the pedestal of the effigy that will showcase the history of Ayodhya and the entire “Ikshvaku Vansh” right from King Manu to the present status of “Ram Janmabhoomi”, the Indian Express reported.

Reportedly, the proposed museum will also include intrinsic details such as the depiction of all ‘Avatars’ (forms) of Lord Vishnu and art techniques that will elaborate on the topic “Bharat ke samasta Sanatan Dharma”.

Awasthi further added that five firms were shortlisted for construction of the statue which gave presentations in front of Yogi Adityanath on Saturday evening.

Currently, soil testing and wind tunnel testing are being carried out. Meanwhile, security was beefed up in Ayodhya ahead of a mass rally or a ‘Dharma Sabha’ where Hindu monks and religious leaders will gather to urge the government to build a Ram Mandir at the disputed site.

Close to 2 lakh people are expected to take part in the religious congregation.
